Business Assistance
The Enterprise Group’s (EG’s) Economic Development Division combines the services of Local Development Finance Authorities, Downtown Development Authorities, the Jackson County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and the Jackson County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority (JCBRA). They structure deals, which may include tax breaks, major plant/equipment renovations, construction, and environmental assessments, and also provide site selection assistance.
The Enterprise Group Community Ventures Corporation (EG CVC) was originally established in 1983 as the Jackson Alliance for Business Development, a 501c(3) non-profit corporation designed to promote business development and education in Jackson County. The EG was founded in 1997 as the economic development entity for Jackson County and is as a 501c(6) non-profit corporation with a mission to build and sustain a vibrant economy, thereby improving the communities quality of life. After formation of The EG, the Jackson Alliance for Business Development was renamed the EG CVC. The goals of the EG CVC continue to expand as the community grows.
- Educate the business community via an aggressive marketing campaign;
- Encourage economic, industrial and cultural development to create employment;
- Promote sustainable reuse and redevelopment of abandoned, contaminated or obsolete industrial properties;
- Promote business retention and expansion;
- Provide support to municipal units to achieve EG CVCs objectives and purposes;
- Promote art and cultural development within the community.
